Author Guidelines

Jurnal Ilmiah Metadata is a peer-reviewed multidisciplinary scientific journal published by Yayasan Pendidikan Islam Tholabul 'Ilmi. The journal welcomes original research articles, review articles, conceptual papers, and case studies from various disciplines of science that have not been published previously and are not under consideration for publication elsewhere. Authors are required to prepare their manuscripts in accordance with these guidelines before submission through the journal's Open Journal Systems (OJS).

Manuscript Language

Manuscripts may be written in English or Bahasa Indonesia using clear, concise, and grammatically correct academic language. Authors whose first language is not English are encouraged to have their manuscripts professionally proofread prior to submission.

Manuscript Format

The manuscript should be prepared using Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) with the following specifications:

  • Paper size: A4 (210 × 297 mm)
  • Margins:
    • Top: 3 cm
    • Bottom: 3 cm
    • Left: 3 cm
    • Right: 3 cm
  • Font: Calibri
  • Font size: 12 pt
  • Line spacing: 1.15
  • Text alignment: Justified
  • Single-column format
  • Continuous page numbering

Manuscript Structure

A manuscript should be organized in the following order:

1. Title

  • Written clearly and concisely.
  • Maximum 20 words.
  • Reflects the main topic of the research.
  • Avoid abbreviations whenever possible.

2. Author Information

Include:

  • Full name of each author (without academic titles)
  • Institutional affiliation
  • Country
  • ORCID ID (optional but recommended)
  • Corresponding author's email address

3. Abstract

The abstract should:

  • Consist of 200–250 words
  • Be written in one paragraph
  • Describe:
    • Background
    • Objectives
    • Research methods
    • Main findings
    • Conclusions
    • Research novelty

Do not include citations, figures, tables, or equations.

4. Keywords

Provide 3–5 keywords arranged alphabetically.

5. Introduction

The introduction should explain:

  • Background of the study
  • Research problem
  • Literature review
  • Research gap
  • Research novelty
  • Objectives of the study

This section is expected to contain relevant references from recent scientific publications.

6. Research Methods

Describe clearly:

  • Research design
  • Population and sample
  • Data collection techniques
  • Research instruments
  • Data analysis methods
  • Ethical approval (if applicable)

The methods should be sufficiently detailed to allow replication.

7. Results and Discussion

Present research findings systematically.

The discussion should:

  • Interpret the findings
  • Compare with previous studies
  • Explain theoretical and practical implications
  • Highlight research contributions and novelty

Tables and figures must be numbered consecutively and cited in the text.

8. Conclusion

The conclusion should:

  • Answer the research objectives
  • Summarize the main findings
  • Highlight the scientific contribution
  • Present recommendations for future research

Avoid introducing new data.

9. Acknowledgments (Optional)

Acknowledgments may be given to:

  • Funding agencies
  • Research institutions
  • Collaborators
  • Individuals contributing significantly to the research

10. References

References must:

  • Follow the APA Style (7th Edition)
  • Be managed using reference management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote
  • Contain primarily recent publications (preferably within the last ten years)
  • Include at least 80% journal articles
  • Include DOI whenever available

Authors are encouraged to cite relevant articles previously published in Jurnal Ilmiah Metadata whenever appropriate.

Tables

Tables should:

  • Be editable (not images)
  • Be numbered consecutively
  • Include concise titles above the table
  • Mention data sources when applicable

Figures

Figures should:

  • Be of high resolution
  • Be numbered consecutively
  • Include captions below the figure
  • Be cited within the manuscript

Mathematical Equations

Equations should:

  • Be created using the Microsoft Equation Editor or MathType
  • Be numbered sequentially
  • Be referenced in the text

Citation Style

All citations and references must follow the APA 7th Edition format.

Journal

Book

Author, A. A. (2023). Book Title. Publisher.

Originality Requirement

Submitted manuscripts must:

  • Be original works.
  • Not have been published previously.
  • Not be under consideration by another journal.
  • Pass the journal's plagiarism screening policy.

Ethical Considerations

Authors are responsible for ensuring that their research complies with accepted ethical standards, including informed consent, research integrity, authorship criteria, conflict of interest disclosure, and proper acknowledgment of all sources.

Submission Procedure

All manuscripts must be submitted electronically through the journal's Open Journal Systems (OJS).

Authors are required to:

  • Register as an Author.
  • Complete all metadata accurately.
  • Upload the manuscript in Microsoft Word format.
  • Upload supplementary files if required.
  • Confirm compliance with the submission checklist.

Review Process

Every manuscript undergoes:

  • Initial editorial screening
  • Similarity checking
  • Double-blind peer review by at least two reviewers
  • Revision process (if necessary)
  • Final editorial decision

Only manuscripts that successfully pass all stages of review will be accepted for publication.
