Jurnal Ilmiah Metadata is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication quality through a rigorous, fair, objective, and transparent double-blind peer review process. Every manuscript submitted to the journal is evaluated solely on its scientific merit, originality, methodological rigor, significance, and relevance to the journal's aims and scope, regardless of the authors' institutional affiliation, nationality, gender, or personal background.
Upon submission, each manuscript undergoes an initial editorial screening conducted by the Editor-in-Chief or the assigned Section Editor. During this stage, the manuscript is assessed to determine whether it:
The initial editorial evaluation is generally completed within 1–3 weeks. Manuscripts that do not satisfy these preliminary requirements may be rejected without external review (desk rejection). Manuscripts that meet the editorial standards proceed to the peer-review stage.
All eligible manuscripts are reviewed using the double-blind peer review method, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the review process.
Each manuscript is evaluated by at least two independent reviewers who possess expertise in the relevant subject area. If necessary, the Editorial Board may invite additional reviewers to obtain further evaluations or resolve differences in reviewer recommendations.
The peer-review process normally requires 4–8 weeks, depending on reviewer availability and the complexity of the manuscript.
Reviewers are requested to evaluate manuscripts based on the following criteria:
Reviewers provide constructive comments and recommendations intended to improve the quality of the manuscript. Language editing and copyediting are not considered part of the peer-review process.
Based on the reviewers' reports, the Editor-in-Chief or the assigned Editor makes one of the following editorial decisions:
Where necessary, the Editorial Board may seek additional expert opinions before reaching a final decision. The final decision regarding publication rests solely with the Editor-in-Chief and is based on the scientific quality and reviewers' recommendations.
Authors receiving revision requests are expected to revise their manuscripts carefully by addressing all reviewer comments and submitting a detailed response explaining how each comment has been accommodated.
Revised manuscripts may be returned to the original reviewers for further evaluation before a final publication decision is made.
All manuscripts submitted to Jurnal Ilmiah Metadata are treated as confidential documents. Editors and reviewers must not disclose, distribute, or use any unpublished materials for personal advantage.
Editors and reviewers are required to declare any potential conflicts of interest and adhere to internationally accepted standards of publication ethics. The journal follows the ethical principles established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) to ensure integrity, transparency, fairness, and accountability throughout the publication process.
Researchers, academics, and professionals with expertise relevant to the journal's multidisciplinary scope are invited to join the reviewer board of Jurnal Ilmiah Metadata.
Prospective reviewers are encouraged to contact the Editorial Office by email and provide their curriculum vitae, institutional affiliation, areas of expertise, and publication record.
